Hi, I am Tessa Bricknell.
My journey into freelance photography began organically in 2018, when I found myself connecting with a beautiful community of creatives and visionaries in my local area.
I’ve always been deeply curious about people—their unique stories, their processes, and the gifts they bring into this world. It was this curiosity that naturally led me to capture their essence through the art of photography.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals and brands, while uncovering more of my own personal style - warm, earthy, and a little ethereal.
For me, photography has never been just about taking images. It’s about fostering meaningful connections, bringing people together, and creating something that feels bigger than the photograph itself.
When I first began, my work centred around personal brand shoots, often with women. Over time, I noticed how challenging it can be to truly connect with the camera. So often, we focus on the outcome rather than the experience - striving for a polished image instead of dropping into our bodies and allowing ourselves to be seen. This awareness sparked a deeper passion within me for embodiment photography: capturing women in their most authentic, untamed, and expressive forms.
My own journey toward body acceptance and embodiment has been a profound one. Through practices such as dance and movement, I’ve cultivated a new sense of comfort and connection within my body. As I continue to deepen this work, I’m intentionally weaving these practices into my photoshoots.
Through this work, I hope to empower women to embrace their many facets, tap into self-expression and receive photos that feel like them.
